We went on a field trip the other day, it turned out to be a sweet lesson from the Lord. I plan on going back often. The leper colony ..... this is a really cool place where several lepers live, they do an amazing job of producing beautiful fabrics and textiles straight from the raw. Of course, with my background and love for textiles and design, I was just intrigued! These sweet ladies and men are amazing and after seeing the beauty they were creating, I was more in awe of what the Lord was teaching me about beauty and the heart.
We had a beautiful day, so blessed. It was such beauty. I was reminded of what beauty is....
As I was walking around this really peaceful complex, I just tuned out the world around me, just wanting to look into these people's eyes and show them Christ's love. But it was really sweet, I was so blessed, I saw glimpses of Him, He reminded me that He is our refuge and our fortress, He is our Deliverer, and He covers us and cares deeply for us. He is not concerned with our appearances, He is the Lover of our souls!! He holds fast to us in love and knows us by name! He is our great Rescue and we are the work of HIS hands, praise the Lord!! This short time I had with the lepers changed me. The Father used these precious lepers to change me, that is too good.
A Desert Song
(by Hillsong)
This is my prayer in the desert
And all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon forged against me shall remain
I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here
And this is my prayer in the battle
And triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've recieved I will sow
